Cantus presents at last the long-awaited new CD by Xavier Díaz-Latorre, dedicated to the Libro della Fortuna (Naples, 1536) by Francesco da Milano. It is an extraordinary recital performed on three different instruments (a Renaissance lute and two viole da mano, the Italian name for Spanish vihuelas), all of them strung on pure gut.

Recorded in the Parish Church of Soto del Real (Madrid, Spain), this recording presents a sumptuous, full sound that does justice to Xavier Díaz-Latorre’s marvellous technique. It is a wonderfully intimate, special CD, one of those jewels that cannot be missing in the collections of the most demanding aficionados. The presentation is equally remarkable, with an extensive 48-page full-colour booklet with notes specially written by José Carlos Cabello in which he unravels all the mysteries surrounding the publication of the Libro della Fortuna.
