Yes, it usually happens the other way around, but Il Profondo Il is a very original ensemble: made up of young musicians specializing in basso continuo at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, Il Profondo is a group of wonderful sound that manages to create a rich, dense texture, rich, full of colours, in which are based the performances of the soloists that the ensemble invites to play with them in their concerts and recordings. The plucked, keyboard and string instruments allow Il Profondo Il a striking a dramatic presence, a sovereign sound over which the notes of their guest soloist fly, as countertenor Flavio Ferri-Benedetti does, joining Il Profondo to create one of the most beautiful Cantus albums ever.
