To describe the enormous artistic stature of Juan Carlos Rivera it will be enough if I say that, of all the recordings I have produced in my life, the sessions for our album "Tater Gala" will always remain in my memory as one of the most beautiful and satisfying in my career. His impressive technical precision in such a demanding instrument as the vihuela, his classy touch, the way he plays the bass line in the polyphonic texture, his musicality, his professionalism ... all these are virtues rarely found in the world of plucked string instruments, in which the artifices of recordings sometimes hide many mediocre performers. I think it will be long until someone can record vihuela record that exceeds in beauty and technical virtuosity the one that Juan Carlos Rivera made for Cantus.
